Event Type: AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Sponsored FDP

Event Title: Advancing Green Communication: Research Perspectives in Sustainable Optical Wireless Technology

Start Date: 09.12.2024

End Date: 14.12.2024

About FDP: With the increasing complexity and environmental impact of modern communication systems, there is a growing demand for developing fast, energy-efficient, and sustainable technologies. Optical wireless communication (OWC) presents a promising solution, offering high-speed, energy-efficient data transmission suitable for state-of-the-art applications in various industries. This FDP aims to familiarize young faculty members and research scholars with the latest advancements in sustainable optical wireless technology, emphasizing both theoretical understanding and practical skills.

This FDP will cover a wide range of topics related to optical wireless communication, including Free Space Optics (FSO), Visible Light Communication (VLC), integration with emerging technologies like 6G, IoT, and quantum communication. Participants will gain exposure to the design and optimization of OWC systems, interconnect modeling, device modeling, fabrication, characterization, and system packaging and integration. The program is designed to provide a balanced mix of lectures, hands-on training, discussions, and brainstorming sessions.
