Job Description:
- Teaching and mentoring students in undergraduate and graduate programs
- Mentoring the students for competitions, projects and other technical activities
- Collaborating with academia and industry on research projects
- Conducting research in the field of Robotics/Artificial Intelligence/ or related Multidisciplinary domain
- Publishing research findings in Journals of high repute and conferences
- Engage in departmental, institute and university activities
- Taking initiatives to contribute to the academic and research communities
Skills Required –
- Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Python, C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink
- Robot programming, Control architecture
- Embedded systems, microcontroller programming and hardware deployment
- Sensor integration, Exposure to open source and commercial robot simulation platforms
- CAD software, 3D printing
Salary – As per 7th Pay Commission recommendation.
Qualification:
PhD (CSE/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Control/Mechanical Engineering), M.Tech & B.Tech in relevant disciplines; with a reputed institute from India or abroad. The candidate should have a proven track record of research in the robotics and/or artificial intelligence/ allied domain.
Experience: Candidates probably having experience/exposure to research in the following areas:
- Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Data Science
- Control Systems, Robotic System Development and Programming Architecture
- Field and Service Robots
- Machine vision, SLAM, Vision based control
Essential attributes/ requirements of a candidate
- Palpable passion for research/ project execution/ develop products for commercial/ social application and some experience in Teaching.
- Keen on time bound Consultancy Assignments and funded projects.
- Authored papers Scopus/ ABDC indexed publications. Keen on publishing books/ book chapters.
- Research to resolve societal/ national/ environmental issues.
- Excellent communication skills with deep and wide knowledge.
- Interested in inter-disciplinary, collaborative research.
- People skills – and ability to establish rapport with students.
- Willingness to relocate to Chennai or somewhere close to place of work.
- Pride in India’s ancient culture and heritage.
