Organization Profile: The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Job Title: Laboratory Demonstrator
Department:
- School of Materials Sciences of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata
Essential qualification:
- PhD in Materials Chemistry
- Past research experience in experimental Materials Sciences with research publications in reputed journals and impressive academic track record.
- Two years’ experience in running teaching laboratory in a University or equivalent institute.
- Experience in handling UV-vis Spectrophotometer, Fluorimeter, I-V and C-V Measurement System etc.
Job Description: Supervision of PG research laboratories in SMS at IACS, laboratory instruction and guidance to UG and PG students, maintenance of non-trivial research facilities of common interest of the school and research work as assigned/ approved by the School Chair.
Tenure: This position is temporary initially for one year and can be extended for another 2 years (1+1+1) based on satisfactory performance. The candidate will have no right to claim (explicit or implicit) any post in the institute.
