The Institute is a dream come true of its founder late Mr G.D.Birla – an eminent industrialist, a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of the Father of Indian Nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi). What started in early 1900s as a small school, blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from the Humanities to Engineering until 1964 when all these colleges amalgamated to culminate into a unique Indian University of International standing. This university was christened as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, known to many as BITS, Pilani.

Qualification:
ON-CAMPUS FACULTY
- A PhD with an exceptional research footprint (publications in top-tier journals and conferences) and excellent academic pedigrees is necessary. In addition to a strong commitment to research, teaching, and mentoring students, our faculties are expected to secure research funding and contribute to the institution’s academic and research goals
- We receive many applications with a very strong resume, and hence, candidates with industrial and/or Postdoctoral experience from institutions of repute will have an edge
- Applicants with three years of post-PhD experience as an Assistant Professor at a reputed university may be considered for Academic Level – 13A1. Such decisions will be at the discretion of the Selection Committee
- Candidates applying for the post of Professor and above must have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and administration
OFF-CAMPUS FACULTY
- Industry professionals with rich industry experience and an inclination towards teaching and academics would be preferred for full-time Assistant and Associate professor positions.
