Qualification and Experience:
- Assistant Professor:
B.E/ B.Tech/ B.S and M.E/ M.Tech/ M.S or Integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
*For Post No.1, in addition to the above qualification, VICT Certificate and exposure to
“Marine Electrical Machinery” are desirable. ** For Post No. 2, Desirable: VICT Certificate - Associate Professor:
- Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture.
- First Class Certificate of Competency (MEO Class-I C.O.C)
- Shall produce the TOTA/ VICT course on joining.
Desirable:
- Tech in Marine Engineering.
- AECS course certificate.
- Shall undergo the VICT course before joining duty.
Experience:
12 years of relevant experience out of which at least 2 years shall be in the position of Chief Engineer officer onboard merchant ships. (Experience as Full time Faculty member in a DG Shipping approved MTI will be counted as equivalent to Chief Engineer experience). - Course In Charge:
- Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture.
- First Class Certificate of Competency (MEO Class-I C.O.C)
Desirable:
(i) Ph.D in relevant discipline.
(ii) M.Tech in Marine/ Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture/ Extra First Class Certificate of Competency.
- AECS course certificate.
- Shall undergo the VICT course before joining duty.
Experience
- 15 years of relevant experience out of which at least 2 years shall be in the position of Chief Engineer officer onboard merchant ships. (Experience as Full time Faculty member in a DG Shipping approved MTI will be counted as equivalent to Chief Engineer experience)
AND
- 2 years experience as a Faculty in a D.G shipping approved Maritime Training Institute. OR
2 years experience at Senior Management level in Maritime related shore Industry.
