Organization Profile: Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) is an autonomous premier Science and Technology Institute established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. Academic activities at IIT Dharwad commenced in July 2016 with B.Tech course being offered in three core branches, namely, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The current intake at the institute stands at 40 students in each of the specializations. PhD program commenced from January 2018 session. Soon Masters programs will also be offered.

Essential Qualification: Candidate need to satisfy following two criteria:
1) Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Engineering or MCA/MSc. Computer Sc.
2) Any of the following National Eligibility Test/ Exams:
a. CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)
b. GATE
c. National level examination conducted by Central Govt. Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc
Desirable Qualification:
1) Executional expertise
2) Programming and analytical skills (C++ knowledge preferable)
3) 3D solid modelling
4) Image processing
5) Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechanical systems and lab equipment
6) Ability to abstract the problem and perform quick mechanical calculations
7) Troubleshooting skills – both mechanical hardware and software
8) Flexibility and aptitude for learning new skills for interdisciplinary research work
Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 31,000 per month (excluding HRA)
HRA/ Accommodation: HRA as per institute rules. The selected candidate is also eligible for on-campus Hostel & Mess facilities, subject to availability. (As of 26th Apr. 2021, applicable HRA is 16% i.e. Rs. 4960/- per month. Total emoluments go typically to about Rs. 35960/- per month)
Duration of the Project: Initially for 1 year; extendible to span complete project duration
Tenure of appointment: The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of selection process
