Organization Profile: The University of Hyderabad is a public research university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Founded in 1974, this mostly residential campus has more than 5,000 students and 400 faculty, from several disciplines. The university was established along the lines of the Six-Point Formula of 1973. The first vice-chancellor of the university was Banaras Hindu University organic chemist Gurbaksh Singh, from 1974 to 1979. Shri B D Jatti was the first chancellor of the university. In January 2015, the University of Hyderabad received the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, awarded by the President of India.

Essential Qualifications:
- M.A. in English or M.A. in Communications with a minimum of 55% marks (with language components) with NET/JRF.
- M.A. in any area of English Language Studies or other allied disciplines with a minimum of 55% marks and NET/ JRF.
- Ph.D in English Language Studies and English Linguistics.
Desirable: PGDTE and/ or M.Phil in English Language Studies/ English Linguistics.
Salary: As per current University norms, Guest Faculty will be paid an honorarium of Rs.1,500.00 (Rupees One thousand and Five hundred only) per lecture basis subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000.00 per month vide UGC guidelines dated 28.01.2019. Also as per F&A rules 10% or 20%, respectively for those with and without PAN, may be deducted towards income tax, unless a certificate of exemption from a competent authority is submitted.
Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or at the time joining the post.
