In January 2009, IIT Hyderabad admitted 11 PhD students.

- Ph.D in Physics/ Electronics and Telecommunication or relevant subjects completed.
- Prior experience in optical devices and simulation (ZEMAX, Lumerical, etc.)
- Expertise in programming languages, machine learning, AI and Deep Learning, CAD modelling, etc)

Stipend: Rs. 55,000/- to 58,000/-
