Essential Qualifications: 

  • Faculty- Ocean Engineering
    • Essential:
      Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at both UG and PG level or at Integrated PG level in a relevant engineering discipline. The discipline in UG shall be Civil / Mechanical Engineering. The discipline at PG level shall be Ocean Engineering / Coastal Engineering / Marine Structures / Harbour Engineering.
      Desirable:
      a) Ph. D in a relevant discipline.
      b) Research publications such as books/ research papers/policy papers as per the UGC norms.
      c) Possess knowledge in Offshore/Dredging/Harbour/Coastal Engineering and familiarity with marine structural design, API codes, environmental laws, policies and regulations at national and international levels.
      d) Teaching or industrial experience in Ocean Engineering areas preferably in Ocean Structures.
      e) Exposure to Outcome Based Education.
  • Faculty- Dredging Engineering
    • Essential:
      Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at both UG and PG level or at Integrated PG level. The discipline in UG shall be Civil / Mechanical Engineering. The discipline at PG level shall be Ocean Engineering / Coastal Engineering / M arine Structures / Harbour Engineering.
      Desirable:
      a) Ph. D in a relevant discipline.
      b) Research publications such as books/ research papers/policy papers as per the UGC norms.
      c) Possess knowledge in Dredging / Harbour / Coastal engineering and familiarity with environmental laws, policies, and regulations at national and international levels.
      d) Teaching or industrial experience in Dredging Engineering areas.
      e) Exposure to Outcome Based Education.
  • Faculty- Marine Engineering
    • Category 1
      Essential:
      a) Directorate General (Shipping) recognized MEO Class I (Motor) Certificate of Competency;
      b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at Management level within the meaning of STCW Convention in force;
      Desirable:
      a) Ph. D in a relevant discipline.
      b) Research publications such as books/ research papers/policy papers as per the UGC/IMU norms.
      c) Teaching experience in Directorate General (Shipping) recognized training institutes.
      d) Exposure to Outcome Based Education.
      Category 2
      Essential:
      a) B.E/B. Tech degree in Marine Engineering with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade and M.E/M. Tech in relevant discipline with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade
      [OR]
      B.E/B. Tech degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade along with PGDME/GME course approved by Directorate General (Shipping) with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade and M.E/M. Tech in relevant discipline with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade
      b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at any level within the meaning of STCW Convention in force;
      Desirable:
      a) Ph. D in a relevant discipline.
      b) Research publications such as books/ research papers/policy papers as per the UGC norms.
      c) Teaching experience in Directorate General (Shipping) approved training institutes.
      d) Exposure to Outcome Based Education.
  • Faculty- Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding
    • Essential:
      Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade at both UG and PG level or at Integrated PG level. The discipline in UG shall be Naval Architecture / Ship Building / Ocean Engineering or its suitable combinations. The discipline at PG level shall be Naval Architecture / Marine /Marine Structures / Structural Engineering / Thermal / Production / Mechatronics / CAD/CAM.
      Desirable:
      a) Ph. D in a relevant discipline.
      b) Research publications such as books/ research papers/policy papers as per the UGC norms.
      c) Possess knowledge in Ship design/repair/building, Plan approval, class survey and regulations.
      d) Teaching or industrial experience in shipbuilding or related fields.
      e) Exposure to Outcome Based Education
  • Deputy Registrar
    • Essential:
      i. Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks and above
      AND
      ii. Assistant Registrar or equivalent with at least 05 years of administrative experience in Higher education institutions/Officers of State and Central Govt. handling Administrative works.
      OR
      Retired Group ‘A’ officer of Central/state Governments not below the rank of Joint Secretary in State Governments or Deputy Secretary in Central Government.
      OR
      Retired officer (Army/Navy/Air Force) with similar administrative experience
      Desirable:
      Proven ability in administration, Govt./Defence /with the capacity to lead administration in a residential institution. Experience in Govt. Procurement/establishment Matters.
  • Senior Technician (Naval Architecture)
    • Essential :
      (i) 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an institute approved by the All Indian Council of Technical Education (or)
      ii) Diploma in Ship Building Engineering from an institute approved by the All Indian Council of Technical Education (or)
      iii) Bachelor of Science Degree (Ship Building & Repair) from IMU
      (or)
      iv) Petty Officer in Ship Wright from Indian Navy/ Coast Guard
  • Research Assistant
    • Essential:
      A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% of marks or its equivalent grade.
      Desirable: Working knowledge of Information & Communication Technology
