Organization Profile: The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is a premier, national-level Institute for Post Graduate, Fellow Programme and Mid-career/in-service education, research and consulting in rural management and allied fields. Founded in 1979, IRMA’s mission is to promote all-round sustainable rural development through professional management. The Verghese Kurien Policy Lab (VKPL) at IRMA undertakes research based on micro-data and helps evaluate central and state government’s policies and development programs. The methodological focus of the lab is on quasi and field experiments. VKPL is committed to sharing its research and field-level findings, and developmental strategies with policy-makers and implementing agencies. The lab’s central research themes include problems related with livelihood strategies, decentralization and governance, empowerment of women, financial inclusion, the relationship between rural households and markets, provision of public services, and the impact of rights-based schemes and programs.

Eligibility:
Essential:
• Ph.D. or M.Phil. or Master’s degree with at least second division in Finance and allied fields such as Quantitative Finance/ Rural Finance/Financial Economics with a minimum research experience of 01 year.
• The candidate must have demonstrated proficiency in utilizing specialized software such as R, Python, or Stata, as well as experience working with specific datasets for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Understanding of commodity derivatives markets.
Preferred:
• Candidates who have completed their Ph.D. or have recently submitted their thesis and are awaiting defence in the relevant fields and have a track record of publishing high-quality peer-reviewed work are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with good quantitative analysis skills will be given preference.
• Candidates possessing the necessary work and research experience gained in think tanks, research institutes, or academic institutions are encouraged to apply
• The candidate should possess strong communication skills, encompassing both written and oral proficiency.
• The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, team player, and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple deadlines.
Job Profile:
The responsibilities of the role include:
• Conduct literature review on Commodity Derivatives markets and allied areas
• Secondary data collection and analysis using various econometric models
• Report drafting and editing,
• Publishing project results through policy briefs, white papers, reports, conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.
• Coordinating with research partners and vendors.
• Arranging roundtable discussions, workshops, seminars, conferences, and meetings in collaboration with the Center.
• Overall assistance in managing the administration and any other research related activities of the Centre.
• The candidate may be required to travel within India for the purposes of the Centre.
Remuneration: The remuneration will be in the range of Rs. 45,000- Rs.70,000 per month commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and fit with the position.
