- Assistant Professor – Computational Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science
Department: Computer Science & Mathematics
Qualification:
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience:
- Strong foundation in computational mathematics and theoretical aspects of computer science.
- Proven ability to conduct high-quality, independent research in relevant areas.
- Experience with teaching at the university level, preferably including courses in algorithms, discrete mathematics, computational complexity, and other relevant subjects.
- A demonstrated ability to secure research funding (preferred but not required).
- Research Interests:
- Candidates with research interests in areas such as computational complexity, algorithm design, machine learning theory, data structures, cryptography, mathematical modeling, numerical methods, or parallel computing are especially encouraged to apply.
- Interest in interdisciplinary research is highly valued.
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative research and teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Curriculum Development:
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in computational mathematics, theoretical computer science, algorithms, discrete mathematics, and related topics.
- Supervise and mentor students in academic research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Contribute to the development and review of the department’s curriculum and ensure it aligns with current trends in computational mathematics and theoretical computer science.
- Research & Scholarly Activities:
- Establish and maintain an active, externally funded research program in computational mathematics, algorithms, theoretical computer science, or related fields.
- Collaborate with faculty and students on interdisciplinary research projects, both within the department and across other departments.
- Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Seek funding opportunities, including government grants, industry partnerships, and other research support mechanisms.
- Service & Community Engagement:
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities.
- Advise students on academic and career development.
- Contribute to outreach efforts that enhance the visibility of the department’s research and programs.
- Engage in professional organizations and contribute to the broader academic community.
