Organization Profile: National Institute of Technology Patna is the 18th National Institute of Technology created by the Ministry of H.R.D. Government of India after rechristening the erstwhile Bihar College of Engineering Patna on 28. 01. 2004. NIT Patna marked its humble beginning in 1886 with the establishment of pleaders survey training school which was subsequently promoted of Bihar College of Engineering Patna in 1924. This made this institute the 6th Oldest Engineering Institute of India. The graduate level curriculum was later elevated to the post graduate level in 1978. The institute is situated on the south bank of holy river Ganges behind Gandhi Ghat, one of the most important and reverential place of Patna. The Gandhi Ghat is associated with the immersion of ashes of father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in the river Ganges.
Job Title: JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) / PROJECT ASSOCIATE-I (PA-I)

Title of project: Development of Directed Energy Deposition Gas Metal Arc (DED-GMA) setup for fabricating Aluminium Alloy and Experimental Investigation on the Effect of Process Parameters on Metallurgical and Mechanical Properties of fabricated components.

Qualification:
- Qualification for JRF: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate in Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:-
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR –UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- The Selection process through National level examinations conducted by central Government departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
- Qualifications for PA-I: B. E/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized University OR M.E/M.Tech in Manufacturing OR in any other related specialization with 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
Duration of the Position: 3 years (Initially for one year, and up gradation will be done based on satisfactory performance)

Pay Scale:
- JRF: 37,000+ HRA (first 2 years) & 42,000+ HRA for (Last 1 years) (Valid Gate/NET score)
- PA-I: 30000+ HRA (first 2 years) and 33000+ HRA for (Last 1 years) (No Gate/NET score)
