The institute was renamed as the National Institute of Technology, Warangal in 2002 and 1959 B.Tech. (Civil Engineering) was started with an intake of 50 students and 1968 M.Tech. (Transportation Engineering) was started.

Title of the project: Advanced Transport Modelling and Simulation for National Highways in India

Essential Qualifications: B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science & Engineering with First Class/Division, or MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science/Applications with First Class/Division.
Desirable Qualifications: A prior knowledge of below mentioned programming skills is desirable; C++/Python programming; Simulation; Proficiency in statistics, good analytical ability and competency in writing skills
Project Duration: 36 months
Stipend: Rs 25000/- per month consolidated amount
