Organization Profile: LRS TB Hospital was established by TB Association of India in 1952. The hospital was upgraded into an autonomous Institute in 1991 by Govt. of India. The Institute was renamed as LRS Institute of Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases as an autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The Institute is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XX1).

Qualifications:
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (and recognized as per NMCAct 2019)(Persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of Section 13 of the Act).
- A recognized PG qualification in Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases/ Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases/ Allied Specialty (which shall include (a) Clinical Pathology (b) Medicine (c) Microbiology (d) Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (e) Pulmonary Medicine (f) Preventive and Social Medicine), (g) Pediatrics, (h) Anesthesia, (i) Biochemistry (j) Radiology (k) Hospital Administration.
- Research, Teaching and Clinical experience of not less than 18/16 years after PG Diploma/Degree.
- At least 5 years experience of running an important teaching/training/ research institution either as its Head or Head of Department in SAG scale of PB-4 Rs.37400-67000/-+G rade Pay 10,000/- (Revised to pay level 14 as per 7th CPC) OR 1O years experience as Professor or equivalent.
- Must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
