Organization Profile: National Insurance Academy (NIA) is a premier institution devoted to equip the insurance industry with the best of talents. Its close association with the Insurance industry provides the ‘real-life’ reference to its training, education, research, and consultancy activities. NIA was established in 1980 jointly by the Ministry of Finance – Government of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India, General Insurance Corporation of India, The New India Assurance Company, National Insurance Company, United India Insurance Company, and The Oriental Insurance Company on 16th December 1980 in Mumbai to be the institute of excellence in learning and research in Insurance, Pension and allied areas. The Academy was shifted to Pune on 4th June 1990 with state-of-the-art facilities for learning and research.
Job Position: Director
Eligibility:
1. The applicant shall be Indian National and should currently be or have earlier served as:
(i) MD/ CMD/ Chairman (chief executive) in an Insurance company/ corporation or equivalent position in an All India Financial Institution/ insurance regulatory body
OR
Professor in a University or in a reputed educational institution.
2. The age of the applicant shall not be less than 50 years and not more than 62 years as on 01.07.2024 with minimum work experience of 20 years.
Terms of Appointment:
Appointment shall be on contract for a period of 3 years initially, extendable by another 2 years or till 65 years of age (whichever is earlier) purely on contractual basis subject to the performance being found to be satisfactory on review by the Governing Board. The selected candidate will be on probation for a period of one year from the date of his joining the Academy.

Job Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Pay Scale:
a. The Director shall be paid a fixed Basic Pay of Rs.2,25,000/- p.m. plus Dearness allowance as per 7th Central Pay Commission (approx. total pay Rs.3 lakh p.m.).
b. Provident Fund, Health Insurance as per rules of the Academy, Leave Travel Concession as per Central Government rules.
c. Residential Accommodation on the campus, subject to deduction of License fee.
d. Car with Driver for official and limited personal use.
e. Reimbursement of actual Residential and Mobile phone charges subject to a limit fixed.
f. Reimbursement of Rs.50,000/- or actual expenses, whichever is lower, for transportation of Household goods to Pune subject to not claiming from employer.
g. Travel Entitlements by Executive Class/ AC 1st Class and stay for official work as per Central Government Rules.
