College Profile: NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, Tirupur established in the 1997, has emerged into a renowned Institution for knitwear education carving a niche for itself in this field. Started with the motto of “by the industry, for the industry and of the industry”, the institution has lived up to this mission by designing and offering various undergraduate and post graduate courses in the domains of apparel fashion designing, merchandising, and garment production, thereby creating a manpower with requisite skills demanded by the knitwear industry. A one of its kind of institution in the field of knitwear education, it takes special care to nurture and develop the creative ideas and an entrepreneurial venture of the young minds by establishing an incubation center which also facilitates in helping to secure financial assistance for innovative projects. The Research Cell of the College focuses itself in designing and developing eco-friendly and cost effective production methods and waste management techniques. Having more than 230 knitwear entrepreneurs and exporters as promoters of the institution, is indeed a boon to the institution when it comes to placement, as it help students to receive placement offers from diverse companies. Since inception, the institution has lived up towards its stated ideal in catering to the manpower demands of knitwear sector by offering a skilled work force and also promises to do so in the coming days with more vigor.
