Organization Profile: National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur,earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961).
Research Position: Junior Research Fellow
Title of the project: Air entrainment and infrared suppression by hybrid and convex types of IRS devices with louvered openings: Experimental and numerical studies
Sponsoring/Funding Agency: DST-SERB (Grant No: CRG/2023/000223)
Essential Qualifications: M. Tech in Thermal Engineering/Fluids Engineering/Heat Power/Computational Fluid Dynamics or any equivalent degree. Minimum CGPA 6.5 out of 10 or 60% in Masters level. GATE qualified candidates will get due preference.
Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge in Fluid flow, heat transfer, and CFD, in particular Ansys Fluent, Open Foam, etc
Project Duration: 2.8 months or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier. The initial appointment is for one year, and it is extendable 2.8 years or till the completion of the project. The initial tenure may be extended based on the satisfactory performance
Fellowship:
(i) Rs. 37,000/- per month (for first 20 months) + 18% HRA
(ii) Rs. 42,000/- per month (for next 12 months) +18% HRA
