JOB DESCRIPTION:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- Effectively implement HR strategy through developing and administering policies, programs and services for recruitment, performance assessment, compliance, professional development, support and retention. .
- To undertake all duties in accordance with Institutions requirements, best practice, policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate a supportive work environment and an engaged workforce consistent with the Group of Institutions’ mission, core values and culture
- Develop HR strategic plan with mid and long term objectives for group of Institutions
- Oversee end to end recruitment, on-boarding and induction processes, produce offer letters, contracts and letters detailing changes in employment conditions for group ofInstitutions.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedure for the group of Institutions
- Goal setting for departments and staff.
- Operationalize HR programs and services, (e.g. Performance Management, Recruitment and Retention, Reward and Recognition, Compensation, Learning and Development, Employee Health, Well-being and Safety, Leave Management, etc.)
- Handle the performance review process. Provide employees and managers with information about the process, policies, job duties, and process for promotion.
- Continuous monitoring of performance of faculty and staff. Share timely reports to management.
- Function as a communication liaison; identify and share departmental issues, concerns, and needs with leadership.
- Coaching HOD/ Managers for the informal resolution of employment issues
- Managing grievance and disciplinary processes relating to teaching and Non-teaching staff
- Work with other administrative staff to maintain effective communication systems between the various offices.
- Maintain data records effectively via an efficient HR Information System
- Attract and retain the best qualified talent while championing institutional diversity
- Lead employee recreation and recognition programs
- Manage attrition and ensure within the permissible limits. Plan retention strategies.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of employee exit interviews. Report outcome of exit interview information to management and maintains data.
- Provide a framework for employee feedback and assessment that meets the needs of the institution
- Ensuring a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment
- Creating and implementing anti-discrimination policies in the workplace
- Fostering a work environment that’s mentally, emotionally and physically safe
- To keep up to date with HR dept files for LIC/NBA/NAAC/other accreditations
