Job Description/Responsibilities:

Prof./Asso.Prof./A.P. – Chemistry/Nanoscience & Technology

• Professor:
  • Specialization:
    Chemistry – Electrochemical energy devices, Chemical/Biosensors;
    Nanoscience and technology – Nanotechnology expertise towards Sensors and Device Fabrication, Fuel Cells, Large Area Coatings
  • Physics-Specialization: Materials Science for applications in energy, optoelectronics thin films and device fabrication
  • Nanobiotechnology/Biotechnology Specialization: Environmental biotechnology with nanotechnology expertise involving bioremediation, water purification/ treatment areas
• Qualifications & Experience – 
  • Essential qualification:
    Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience after Ph.D., out of which 5 years at Associate Professor or equivalent level. PhD should be in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Both UG & PG degrees must be from UGC approved Institutions and in Full Time mode. All foreign degrees must have equivalence issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)) AND
  • Minimum four Ph.D.s guided in career as sole or principal supervisor, plus one ongoing, with minimum specific requirements as follows: (i) 20 papers in SCI indexed journals; (ii) Four sponsored or consultancy projects.
  • Desirable qualification:
    One or more Patents/Products/Technology transfer; Strong liaison with industry. Offering significant support to institute/ management. Involvement in research/academic infrastructure development OR
  • In case of industrial background, minimum of 13 years of experience in the relevant field at a managerial level equivalent to Associate Professor with an active participation record in devising/designing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books/research paper publications / IPR / patents etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee.
• Associate Professor:
  • Specialization:
    Chemistry-Batteries, super-capacitors, electrochemical sensors Nanoscience and technology -Flexible electronics, Lithography, nano/microfabrication
  • Qualifications & Experience –
    An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10SCI indexed publications as books and/or research/policy papers. PhD should be in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Both UG & PG degrees must be from UGC approved Institutions and in Full Time mode. All foreign degrees must have equivalence issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)) AND
  • A minimum of six years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor at various levels in a university, college or accredited research Institution/ industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research. Minimum one Ph.D. student guidance and one sponsored project are essential.OR
  • In case of industrial background, minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant field at equivalent level with active participation record in devising / designing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality

  • Qualifications & Experience
     Good academic record with Ph.D. (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university (having equivalence issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)). Both UG & PG degrees must be from UGC approved Institutions and in Full Time mode. Proven research background with minimum 2 publications in SCI indexed journals are mandatory.
     Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate is desired to have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
     Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) candidates, who are, or
     Have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
