The Rathinam College of Arts and Science (RCAS) is an NIRF ranked, NAAC accredited (A++ 3.60 CGPA), AICTE approved and autonomous co–educational institution. affiliated to Bharathiar University. RCAS is recognized by UGC under 2(f) & 12B scheme, by DBT under STAR College scheme, and by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with 4 Star rating for innovation.
The institution established in 2001 on a sprawling 70–acre Rathinam Techzone Campus encompassed by Rathinam Group of Institutions (Technical Campus, School of Architecture, College of Physiotherapy, College of Pharmacy, Institute of Management, International Public School), IT park, Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and India’s first United Nation’s sustainable development goals Incubator: AIC–RAISE.
RCAS offers 32 Under–graduate, 11 Post–graduate and 8 Research (Ph.D.) programmes through its five designated schools. Currently, 5200+ students are enrolled in various degree programmes, where 300+ faculty members catering to their intellectual thirst. Most of the faculty members have completed research degree and possess industrial or post–doctoral experience. Additionally, 1/10th of the total faculty members are recognized research guides engaged in cutting edge research activities.
The institution has brought out a well–defined research and start–up policy with the following provisions: creation of research infrastructure, fellowship for scholars, faculty incentives for research contribution, in–house funding for research and start–ups, and other measures to promote the culture of research, innovation and entrepreneurship. As a result, there is a tenfold increase in research outcomes during the last three years in terms of research articles in journals and proceedings, books, book chapters and patents, which is reflected in institutional citation indexing. Overall, our institution strives to provide quality education with excellent skills, industry–based trainings, placements, research, innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities to the learners.
