Organization Profile: Sir M V School of Architecture is located in the reputed Sir MVIT Campus, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, close to the International airport. It is under the aegis of the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust, who run the Sir MVIT Engineering College and KCDS, the Dental College on the same campus. The institute offers 5 year B.Arch., Degree in Bachelor of Architecture, approved by Council of Architecture, (CoA), and Government of Karnataka and all programs are affiliated to Visvesvarya Technological University, Belagavi. The Bachelor of Architecture professional degree program, aims at enabling students to develop an analytical and sensitive approach towards design to make them responsible future-generation architects. The institution holds the unique position of coming under the CEPT University mentorship program through the Foundation studies and L2 mentorship modules. The school is expanding with their program offerings from 2025-26, with the 4 year B.Design and B.Plan undergraduate programs. The School also has a vision to be associated as a Research Centre with Visvesvarya Technical University (VTU) from 2025-26
Positions Open: Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor
Departments having vacancies: Architecture, Planning and Design
Qualification: Doctoral /Masters’ degree/ Bachelors’ Degree with First class in all the preceding degrees in Architecture, Planning or Design with exemplary academic and research accomplishments
Experience:
Professor: Doctoral Degree in Architecture/ Planning or Design with a minimum of 14 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years in academics and research with quality publications in indexed journals. Selected candidates will be associated with Sir MVSA Centre for Research, affiliated to VTU, in addition to teaching select courses in the undergraduate programs.
Associate Professor: Masters’ in Architecture/ Planning / Design with a Minimum 8 years’ experience, out of which 5 years in academics and research. Professional experience in the industry of a minimum of 3 years will be an added advantage
Assistant Professor: Masters’ Degree in Architecture/ Planning / Design with a minimum of 1 year of industry experience is mandatory. Or an undergraduate degree in First Class with a minimum 3 Years of industry experience.
Note: For all positions a valid COA registration is mandatory. For positions in Planning, ITPI Membership is an added advantage.
Job description-
- To teach undergraduate courses in Architecture, Planning and Design.
- Preparing curriculum, lesson plans, and assignment topics.
- Effective teaching pedagogy/techniques and communication skills are required.
- The faculty member will also have responsibilities of student mentoring /advising, and service to the Institute and university.
- Encouraging a learning environment in the class.
- Coordinating National/International conferences/ seminars/MDP/FDP/workshops etc.
- Conducting research and publishing it in academic journals.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.
