Organization Profile: The University of Hyderabad is a public research university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Founded in 1974, this mostly residential campus has more than 5,000 students and 400 faculty, from several disciplines. The governor of the state of Telangana is ex-officio the chief rector of the university, while the President of India is the visitor to the university. The university was established along the lines of the Six-Point Formula of 1973. The first vice-chancellor of the university was Banaras Hindu University organic chemist Gurbaksh Singh, from 1974 to 1979. Shri B D Jatti was the first chancellor of the university. In January 2015, the University of Hyderabad received the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, awarded by the President of India.

Essential Qualifications: :MA with at least 55% marks (5% relaxation for OBC/SC/ST) or
equivalent degree/grade in Comparative Literature or allied/relevant disciplines and NET (or Ph.D degree as per UGC regulations, 2009) as well as a good academic record and proficiency in English.
Desirable: Ph.D/ M.Phil in Comparative Literature or allied/relevant discipline and teaching experience as well as orientation for technology mediated teaching-learning process.
Salary: As per current University norms, Guest Faculty would be paid an honorarium of
Rs. 1,500/- (Rs. One Thousand and Five Hundred only) per lecture basis subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only) per month for teaching two full courses in accordance with the revised UGC 2019 guidelines for Guest Faculty. Also, as per F&A rules, 10% or 20%, respectively for those with and without PAN, may be deducted towards income tax, unless a certificate of exemption from a competent authority is submitted.
